The speech topic: “Mobile TV - Lessons Learned and Next Steps”

Mr. Jonas Kronlund is a technology manager at Elisa Corporation, the leading communications and ICT solutions company in Finland, offering a comprehensive range of communications services, including voice and data services, connections to the internet, customised ICT solutions and network operator services. Elisa is a forerunner of new mobile and content services.

Mr. Kronlund joined Elisa in 1997 (then the Helsinki Telephone Corporation) and has since then managed several domestic and international research and development projects involving various digital media and video technologies, value networks and business models. He has gained a unique understanding of piloting new service concepts and bringing them over to the business side.

Mr. Kronlund has since 2003 been heavily involved in the research and development of innovative and interactive mobile TV services, and is currently leading the Finnish Mobile TV project, which is a framework for open innovation in this area (www.finnishmobiletv.com). The project is supported by several leading companies such as Digita, Elisa, MTV3, Nokia, SWelcom, TeliaSonera, TietoEnator and The Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE, and will during 2007 focus on piloting interactive services for mobile TV.
